How to build a client upload portal that updates live.
Labeled slots, live sync, and one secure link with no signup.
Collecting documents from clients is usually a mess of email attachments and did you get it. I built a portal where the client drops files into labeled slots and your side updates live, in the same second. Here is how.
Six parts, and the live sync is what makes it feel modern.
- Give each client a secure door. Each client logs into a portal that shows only their own request, never anyone else’s.
- Upload into slots. Instead of a dumb file dump, each needed document has its own slot, so it is obvious what goes where.
- Sync live. The moment a client uploads, your side updates in real time. No refreshing, no wondering.
- Show status per slot. Every slot shows in or missing, so both sides know exactly what is left.
- Survive a dropped connection. Real networks drop. The portal reconnects and re-syncs on its own, so nothing is lost.
- Skip the accounts. A client can use a single secure link with no signup, which is the difference between them doing it and ignoring you.
Any business that collects documents, accountants, agencies, contractors, can run on this. The design above is the complete portal, free to copy.
From the Lendari portal build. Everything described here is something I actually run; nothing on this bench is theoretical.
